Dividend Stocks Vs Growth Stocks

Which is the better investment?

The U.S. stock market has been one of the greatest long-term wealth generators in history. From 1930 to 2017, dividends accounted for approximately 42% of the S&P 500’s total return, according to Hartford Funds. But does that mean that dividend stocks are the only way to go?

Conversely, growth stocks accounted for a majority of the returns all throughout the 1950’s, 1980’s, and 1990’s. Additionally, small cap stocks in general (which are made up of mostly growth) have been a top performer over the last century.

What are the good and bad characteristics of each? Which is best for long-term? I share this information and more in the video!

Kenny, I am fairly new to the market, but watching a TON of YouTube videos, it is apparently many of these people do not know much more than I know. Some are presenting themselves as "experts" or experienced investors, but it is obvious they are not. From what I see, you seem like the most knowledgeable YouTube investor. I really appreciate your videos.

Always good to have some balance. Good job explaining the pro's and con's of both dividend stocks and growth stocks. And the cool thing is, sometimes those nifty growth stocks become nice dividend payers down the road.
