View CommentMr. Town, regarding day trading, I would like to make a few comments about what you said. First of all there is a lot of money to be made as well as a lot of money to be lost. The potential for making money is unbelievable. You made a comment that makes day trading sound like a person randomly picks a stock out of a hat. That is not the way you pick a stock for day trading. There are scanners that look thru the stock market and find stocks that meet your criteria, such as price, volume, gap up, etc. From this list you come up with, you then check those stocks during market hours and you look for stocks that are moving up. You then buy in look for the price to rise and sell when the momentum dies off. You are also being watchful for the dip and then sell off at that point Day trading involves spending time and practice to get good at it. However it can be very rewarding financially. A lot of people say day trading is risky, but even holding mutual or index funds is risky, remember the Market crash of 2008. A lot of long term investors, lost lots of money in that crash, in what many thought was a safe investment vehicle. When you go to Vegas and throw some dice or play poker that is gambling, you have no control over the dice. You can't make the dice roll in your favor, in day trading you learn how to trade and you go into it wisely and minimize your losses.

View CommentHi…Intraday is an absolute gamble…generally take positions for long term. Once my wealth manager pushed me for a day trading with his strategies. I doubled my investment in a week…it was amazing. That weekend i seriously reviewed myself on doubling my investment. I did not find any reason why i made money. I felt that there is no basis for my profits..so quit day trading and continueing long term investment which is feching a stable 18% rryurn year on year.. i am happy with it.
